Resting quietly between Franktown and Kiowa, the town of Elizabeth is a community with agricultural roots and a suburban future. Just 40 miles from Denver, Elizabeth grows each year as more Coloradans seek the employment opportunities of a major city but long for the ambience of a small town. Living in Elizabeth allows for both. These days, subdivisions dot the countryside and Spring Valley Golf Course fairways lie between farm plots, but the culture of this hardworking ranch community remains unchanged.

In Elizabeth, visitors can wander among restored Victorian homes and then browse through antique, toy and vintage clothing stores on Main Street. Volunteer historians document area history at the museum in nearby Kiowa, a few miles west on Hwy. 86.

Nearby Castlewood Canyon State Park is a popular recreation spot. Located in the famous Black Forest, the park offers excellent opportunities for hiking, rock climbing and bird watching. For more summertime fun, attend the annual Elizabeth Stampede, featuring a town parade, rodeo and antique car show.

info stats

LAST MONTH’S DATA COMPARED TO PREVIOUS TWO YEARS

  • The industry considers Median Sales Price a more accurate look at home prices than average because it eliminates the outliers that can skew data.

  • Low inventory (new & active listings) can lead to a sellers market, especially if pending & sold listings are up. The opposite, high inventory and low sales will lead to a buyers market.

  • Months of inventory reflects an estimate of the amount of time it would take to sell all of the current listings in a given area.  Six months is considered a ‘balanced’ market. Anything under 6 months is considered a sellers market and anything above is a buyers market.
